Strider Balance Bikes at the Womens Tour are always a hit with kids, parents and spectators alike. It is always an inspiration to watch the World's Top Women Professional Cyclists up close, but even more inspiring to be the warm up act for the Womens Tour when you are just 2 years old.
25 children aged from 19 months upwards rode at the Women's Tour on 9th June, 2017 in Leamington Spa, Warwickshire.
Hearing their name from the commentator and lining up for their individual time trial is an easy gig for our veteran racers. They take it all in the Stride.
Climbing the podium to get their medals and Tour Jersey is the highlight whilst the press snap away. Then off to show and tell at nursery school the next day. Typical life of a Strider Rider. The kids love it!
Huge thanks to all the finish crew at the tour and Wright Hassall Solicitors for sponsoring the medals and trophy.
Strider Racing is friendly competition and a grassroots entry into many sports, as the exceptional balance and confidence learnt from racing from 18 months is unique. In fact we can't think of any sports that balance isn't key to success. Add glittering confidence, self discipline from waiting their turn and the co-ordination and we are creating future champions. However it isn't about coaching kids to win, it is about ensuring kids learn how to lose graciously so they know what it takes to win later in life. All done in a fun family enviroment where every child gets cheered on.
