Strider Balance Bike racing at Birmingham

Strider Racing is back! Saturday 6th June, 2015 saw blistering action at the first big Strider Bike UK race of the year at Birmingham BMX track.

Over 60 riders lined their Strider balance bikes up eagerly anticipating the gate dropping. Stridering along all from the youngest at 19 months made it around the course for their balance bike race with no help from the adults. Huge smiles, cheering parents and the sound of cowbells made the whole day very exciting.

Strider Balance Bike Racing in their age groups from 2 - 5 years, girls and boys took their places on the start line to race the no pedal bike STRIDER around a purpose built track

Everyone received a medal and had a fabulous time. The kids raced in three moto's, a run off and then the final. The only tears shed were when parents had to tell them to stop riding and go home.

The next race will be held at the Cyclopark in Gravesend in Kent on Sunday 6th September. Registration is open now and riders must book in advance. Cost is £10 per rider, that includes a race plate and a medal and open to all riding a Genuine Strider balance bike. Those that wish to join in can either purchase a bike from Velo Refined, the Cyclopark's cycle shop on site, or can rent them at the time of booking.

Cyclopark and Birmingham BMX Race Track run several Strider balance bike sessions a week. Strider, the lightest and most adjustable balance bike out there is suitable from as soon as your child can walk, and will last them until they are ready for pedals. The super light design, starting from 2.2 k.g is designed for little people and there is no better way to learn to ride a bike.
